The adventure season upon us, Nicholas and I went on a motorbike ride along the banks and in the surrounding bush and pastoral land of Lake Eucumbene.

Camping at Tom Groggin in Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales, we were greeted by numerous grey kangaroos, clearly having been hand fed, which, of course, is against the rules. They didn't mind at all, posing for photos from a metre or so away.

Subtlety pervaded the light, the colours and the tones as the first gentle illumination of morning dawned on the freshly fallen snow.
